Repair Windows Xp Without Installing CD

Lock Any Folder Without Using Any Software

You can lock any folder without using any software. Follow these steps.

1. Suppose you have a folder named abcd in D:\abcd.
2. In the same drive next to the folder create a new notepad file with the exact statement ren abcd abcd.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
3. Now save this text file as loc.bat
4. Create another notepad file and typeren abcd.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} abcd
5. Save this as key.bat
6. Now there are two batch files . Double click loc.bat and yourfolder will change into Control Panel and its contents cannot be viewed .
7. To open the folder double click key.bat and you get back your original folder .
8. For more safety keep the key.bat in another location
9. Only for unlocking copy paste to the original location and double click .

Install Xp In 15 Minutes

 

Now, this tip will be very helpful for those who frequently install windows xp operating system. Normally OS installation takes around 40 minutes to complete, but through this trick you can now save 10-15 minutes. This simple tricks goes this way.

1. Boot through Windows XP CD.
2. After all the files are completely loaded, you get the option to select the partition. Select “c”.
3. Now Format the partition, whether it is normal or quick with NTFS or FAT
4. Once the formatting is completed, All the setup files required for installation are copied. Restart your system by pressing Enter. Now, here begins the Simple trick to save 10-15 minutes.
5. After rebooting, you get a screen where it takes 40 minutes to complete or finalize the OS installation.
6. Now, Press SHIFT + F10 Key -> This opens command prompt.
7. Enter “Taskmgr” at the command prompt window. This will open Task Manager.
8. Click the Process Tab, here we find a process called Setup.exe -> Right Click on Setup.exe ->Set Priority -> Select High or Above Normal. Initially it will be Normal. Thats it, no more work to do. Relax your self and see how fast the installation process completes.

You can select your suitable timing by selecting a time in Turn off monitor if you want to turn off your monitor before your computer goes on standby.

Disable or Enable Auto run CD

Some times you may be irritating when suddenly a CD window pop up or a video begins to run as the CD is inserted. You can enable or disable auto run CD depending on your nature of work by making a simple change in registry. In user interface mode there is no option to disable or enable this feature and you must edit the registry of windows and be careful to work registry.
 
Procedure:

Click Start button then type regedit in Run option then press Enter for next.

Here locate the location to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom

Here you can disable or enable automatically running your CD.

Change the value of Autorun to 0 for disable and change the value to 1 for enable.

After finishing editing you must restart your computer to see the effect of changes.

How to make your own screensaver

You can put your own digital photos as a screensaver, First of all you need to create a slide show presentation for use as a screen saver.

How to make a slide show

- Right-click an empty spot on your desktop and then click Properties.

- Click the Screensaver tab.

- In the Screen saver list, click My Pictures Slide show.

- click on the settings button and click on browse to locate your pictures

- In the settings you can make Settings to make any adjustments, such as how often the pictures should change, what size they should be, and whether you'll use transition effects between pictures, and then click OK.



Now your screen saver is a random display of the pictures taken from your located folder.

Minimize And Maximize Windows Using Keyboard

Some time "show desktop" button may be deleted, disabled or not functioning so in this case you may be facing problem how to minimize and maximize all your active windows programs.

You can do all using your mouse, but if you want to do this with keyboard then simply press Windows key+M to minimize all active programs and later maximize it using Windows key+Shift+M.

If you want to minimize the all active windows programs one by one then use the shortcut by pressing Alt+Space+N keys and sequentially maximize the active windows programs using shortcut Alt+Space+X keys.

Resolving Inability to Add or Remove Programs
